Congratulations to Sterling Savings Bank, and all others that were involved in the 9th annual Bite of Bend! Once again, the festival took place in the vibrant summer scene of downtown Bend Oregon hosting over 40 food vendors. Locals and out-of-town visitors tasted their way through the weekend sampling the local delicacies and mouth-watering cuisine that the Pacific Northwest is best known for. The entertainment didn’t only stop with foods, as over 400 people participated in the Beer Run. Chefs slaved away under the spotlight during the Top Chef Competition, and the main stage came alive with music. With an exciting family area, food vendors, beer run, food and drink demonstrations, fierce cooking competitions, beer garden, marketplace, and wonderful live music, The Bite of Bend is an event that has become a yearly tradition for many. Event Description Enjoying its 22nd anniversary in 2012, the Drake Park Munch & Music free concert series continues to be a summertime favorite. Founded by Cameron Clark, owner of C3 Events, the weekly series provides the community of Central Oregon with a great chance to strengthen their bond while enjoying the arts, outstanding food and free music.

Debuting July 13 at 5 pm in the Old Mill District is Bend’s newest free music event series, SunWest Builders Alive After 5 presented by Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty. The event provides a mid-week, open-air and after-work gathering spot, featuring nationally known bands, 10 Barrel Brewing craft beers, and fine foods off North Powerhouse Drive every Wednesday through Aug. 3. 105.7 KQAK welcomes Quarterflash to open the series on July 13. Quarterflash is best known for its top hits from the 80’s and platinum record, featuring “Harden My Heart”.
Alive After 5 events are held throughout the nation providing after-work opportunities to meet up with friends and business colleagues in a casual open air environment.
The Old Mill District location is next to shops and restaurants, making it easily accessible whether traveling by car, on foot or by bike. It’s close to work yet feels miles away. The park-like setting features lush grass, a pond with cascading mini-waterfalls and stunning views of the Deschutes River and Cascades Mountains. 2011 Balloons Over Bend. Watching hot air balloons magically float overhead somehow brings out the kid in all of us. With three mornings of smooth sailing, Northwest Community Balloons Over Bend Festival created a weekend to remember! Along with three days of exciting balloon launches, we were proud to represent Saving Grace as our beneficiary for the Children’s Festival, raising $16,000 for their non-profit. The Children’s Festival, located at Riverbend Park right next to the stunning Deschutes River, was a children’s dream come true! With live entertainment all day long, a plethora of bounce-houses, rock climbing, delicious food and treats, water toys, and more than 30 game booths, it was a kids paradise! To finish off a perfect day, 8 hot air balloons lit up the night sky during the incredible Night Glow. The event officially starts at 6:00pm with live performances by local musicians - with each night featuring different musical guest who will double as the MC for the evening. Come and enjoy free films on the big screen ranging from classic horror, unsurpassed comedy, moving drama and exciting action.

The Bank of the Cascades Bend Fall Festival, presented by The Source Weekly will bring a celebration of all things fall to downtown Bend Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. Fall-themed activities-yodeling anyone?-music, art, and food will thrill attendees of all ages.

At 10:00am Wednesday, December 21st, The Riverhouse, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, City of Bend Police and the La Pine Christmas Basket Association will be assembling Holiday Food Baskets with enough food to feed 2400 people in the Bend ‐La Pine area. Families in need will receive over 6000 pounds of food thanks to
The Riverhouse and donations from some of their suppliers, including Sysco Foods, Diageo Wine, Precept Wine, Big Sky Brewery, and ODOM Southern Distributing.
